Since 1908, the Sommerbergbahn has connected the centre of Bad Wildbad with the higher Sommerberg plateau. During the journey, the large windows of the modern panoramic carriages offer views across the town, the Enz valley and the forested hills of the Black Forest.

The two carriages travel along the steep track connected by a haulage cable. They pass one another at the midway passing loop before continuing towards the mountain or valley station.
