Bad Wildbad lies in the valley of the Große Enz and can easily be combined with a hike up the Sommerberg. If you would like to shorten the climb, you can take the Sommerbergbahn funicular instead. At the top, forest trails can be combined with popular attractions such as the treetop walk and the WILDLINE suspension bridge.

This varied circular hike starts at Bad Wildbad railway station and, after an initially steep climb, leads into the countryside. Along the way, there are beautiful views of Bad Wildbad and the surrounding Black Forest hills before the route returns through the Rennbach Valley.

“Das kalte Herz” fairy-tale trail on the Sommerberg 3.2 km · approx. 1 hour · largely accessible

The fairy-tale trail begins at the tower of the treetop walk on the Sommerberg. The approximately 3.2 km circular trail has ten stations in total. At nine of them, an audio play tells Wilhelm Hauff’s fairy tale “Das kalte Herz”.

  • Gravelled and largely accessible main path.
  • Suitable for an appropriate pushchair or wheelchair.
  • Additional unpaved “Glasmännleinpfade” branch off from the main path.

The Aichelberger Traumtour is a varied quality hiking trail through the countryside around Aichelberg. The circular route combines natural paths, the Kälbertal valley, woodland and scenic elevated plateaus.

  • Ascent: approx. 519 metres.
  • Suitable as a longer day hike for walkers with a good basic level of fitness.

A short circular hike starting at Lindenplatz in Bad Wildbad-Calmbach. The path leads out of the village and up into the forest, follows the hillside and then returns to Calmbach.

The Wildseemoor circular trail leads through the unique raised bog landscape of the Kaltenbronn nature and forest reserve. Moorland, woodland and tranquil waters make this hike a very special nature experience.

An unusual combination of a hike and treasure hunt on the Graf-Eberhard-Wanderweg. The route leads from Bad Wildbad up to the Riesenstein and then continues through the forest to the Kleinenzhof.

Ravenna Gorge in the Höllental

The Heimatpfad leads from Hinterzarten through the Löffeltal and Ravenna Gorge. Along the route, you will encounter historic mills and other reminders of Black Forest cultural history.

A scenic circular hike from Badenweiler to the Blauen. The route passes through the palace gardens and the Prinzensitz before climbing to the Black Forest Association observation tower on the summit.

Monbach Gorge near Bad Liebenzell

A varied circular hike from Bad Liebenzell railway station through the wild and romantic Monbach Valley. Inside the gorge, the stream is crossed several times using stepping stones.

Schauinsland circular hike

A long circular hike between the lower and upper stations of the Schauinsland cable car. Highlights along the route include the Schauinsland Tower, the museum mine, the Schniederlihof and the Dobelsee.

Premium trail – Three Gorges Tour

A challenging circular hike through the Wutach Gorge, Gauchach Gorge and Engeschlucht on natural and sometimes narrow trails. The Engeschlucht is not passable in wet or rainy conditions, and the gorges are closed during the winter months.

Zweribach Waterfalls

From the Potsdamer Platz hikers’ car park, the circular route leads through the protected Zweribach forest to the waterfalls and then returns via the Zweitälersteig and the Plattenhof. Sturdy footwear and sure-footedness are required; the hike is not recommended in wet conditions.
